Every certification decision is recorded in the public registry and independently verifiable by any party.
Active Enforcement
Unauthorized use of the mark is subject to investigation, revocation, and public delisting.

Artisanal Foundation is an independent certification authority for specialty food products. The Foundation defines standards, verifies compliance through documented evidence, maintains a public certification registry, issues and enforces the Certified Artisanal™ mark, and revokes certification where standards are no longer met.
Artisanal Foundation defines and enforces the Certified Artisanal™ standard for specialty food. Certification is evidence-based, publicly recorded, and subject to revocation.
Certified Artisanal™ is a controlled certification mark issued to product ranges that demonstrate conformity with one or more defined standards: Small Batch production, Heritage method, and Crafted process. The mark is administered by the Artisanal Foundation and may only be used by certified producers with active status.
The Artisanal Foundation Public Registry is the authoritative record of all currently and previously certified products. Each entry includes certification status, verification history, scope of certification, and the basis on which certification was assessed. The registry is publicly accessible and independently verifiable.
Certified Artisanal™ certification is assessed at the product-range level following independent review against three standards categories: Small Batch, Heritage, and Crafted. Certification may be granted based on conformity with one, two, or all three pillars. Certification is valid for 24 months from date of issuance and subject to periodic audit, material change disclosure requirements, and potential revocation.
The Certified Artisanal™ mark on a product range indicates that it has been independently assessed and verified against defined standards for batch production, heritage method, and human craft. Certification status can be confirmed through the public registry at any time.
The Certified Artisanal™ mark is a controlled certification mark. Unauthorised use—including use on non-certified products, use after revocation or expiration, or use that implies a broader scope than the certified range—is subject to investigation and enforcement action.
Certification Reference
The Certified Artisanal™ framework evaluates products across three independent standards categories: Small Batch, Heritage, and Crafted. Certification may be granted based on conformity with one, two, or all three pillars.
Small Batch
Standard 1.0Production must occur in discrete, individually identifiable batches rather than a continuous, undifferentiated production stream.
Heritage
Standard 2.0The production method must derive from a documented tradition with identifiable provenance. Aesthetic or nominal references to heritage are insufficient.
Crafted
Standard 3.0Material human judgment at one or more critical production stages. The intervention must be skilled, intentional, and demonstrably connected to the product outcome.
Mark Usage Guidelines
All use of Artisanal Foundation materials, marks, and language must comply with the following guidelines. Violations may result in enforcement action, including revocation of certification and public delisting.
Do not alter, distort, recolor, or modify the certification mark in any way.
Do not imply certification status without verified, current authorization from the Artisanal Foundation.
Do not apply the Certified Artisanal™ mark to products outside the certified product range.
Do not use the mark after expiration, suspension, or revocation of certification.
Verify certification status in the public registry before making any public reference to a product’s certification.
Do not use Artisanal Foundation branding to suggest endorsement of products or services beyond the scope of certification.
Minimum clear space around the mark must equal or exceed the height of the "C" in "Certified."
The mark must not appear at sizes smaller than 20mm in width for print or 80px for digital applications.
Backgrounds behind the mark must provide sufficient contrast. Do not place the mark on busy imagery or patterned backgrounds without a solid backing.
The mark may not be used in any context that suggests the Foundation endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with any commercial entity beyond the certification relationship.
